The Messenger Between Worlds
For the Ticuna, the jaguar is the great mediator, the being that moves between the physical world and the realm of the ancestors. One of one.
The Story
For the Ticuna, the jaguar is the great mediator, the being that moves between the physical world and the realm of the ancestors. The Jaguar Herald carries that role: a sacred messenger invoked for protection and transformation, carved in the tri-border Amazon where Colombia, Peru, and Brazil meet.
The figure is carved from rainforest wood and finished with natural fibers and hand-applied pigments, every mark part of an inherited ceremonial language. One Ticuna artisan, working the way generations before her worked. One of one.
One family carves, weaves and paints these figures together, as a single group of artisans. The artistic flair is entirely their own, and it originated inside the tribe.
RFB buys directly from the artisans themselves and through their cooperative and tribal representatives, so each piece comes with its story intact.
