Hummingbird Guardian Mask - Handmade Ceremonial Art

Sacred Hummingbird Spirit Brought to Life
This handmade guardian ceremonial mask captures the sacred hummingbird spirit revered by Emberá communities of Panama’s Darién rainforest. Handwoven entirely from natural palm fiber, the sculptural hummingbird form reflects centuries of ancestral knowledge and spiritual connection to the forest. In Emberá cosmology, the hummingbird symbolizes joy, resilience, and the movement between earth and sky — a living messenger between worlds brought into woven form. 5 inches wide, 16 inches high, 8 inches deep. One of a kind.
Created using traditional Emberá weaving techniques passed through generations of rainforest artisans. Palm fibers are carefully harvested, split into fine strands, prepared with natural botanical dyes, and woven coil by coil to create the dimensional structure and feather-like surface texture. Each detail is shaped entirely through tension, layering, and fiber placement, allowing the mask to hold its sculptural presence without internal support while capturing the hummingbird’s movement and energy.
