A note from Jen — These thirty-five baskets come from Kuperre, a collective of Wounaan weavers on the San Juan River in Chocó led by master weaver Crucelina Chocho, whose communities were hit by the August 10 earthquake. Every piece is full price, and a percentage chosen by the weavers themselves goes directly back to their communities to rebuild. Every one is one of one.

Thirty-five one of a kind werregue baskets from Wounaan weavers in Colombia's Chocó, made by artists whose communities were affected by the recent earthquake. Every piece is full price, and a percentage chosen by the weavers themselves goes directly back to their communities. This is not charity. It is collecting at its best: extraordinary coil-woven art, bought at its worth, with more of that worth going home.
